The start-up Decentriq from Zurich uses data protection technology and artificial intelligence to create completely new opportunities for collaboration between companies. The start-up won over the ZKB Pionierpreis Technopark jury with its “clean room for data” and can look forward to CHF 100,000 in prize money.

Synthara AG from Zug receives the award, which is endowed with CHF 100,000. The University of Zurich spin-off is revolutionizing chip design and advancing this key industry in Switzerland. Co-finalists AgroSustain and MUVON Therapeutics each receive CHF 10,000.

The development of electro-optical processors for future generations of communication technology is acknowledged with Switzerland’s leading startup award. The team of engineers around company founders Stefan Abel, Lukas Czornomaz, Felix Eltes, and Jean Fompeyrine have developed a revolutionary technology for producing electro-optical semiconductor chips.

To coincide with the award ceremony of the 2022 Pionierpreis, its sponsors, Zürcher Kantonalbank and Technopark Zurich, have launched a completely new website for this leading award for Swiss innovators. “The goal is to noticeably increase the reach of the Pionierpreis,” says Dr. Matthias Hölling, Team Leader Foundation Areas at the Technopark Zurich Foundation.

The three start-ups who will definitely benefit from the Pionierpreis 2022 have been announced. During the award ceremony on May 10, 2022, in Technopark Zurich one will be the 2022 recipient of the nearly 100,000 Swiss francs prize sum, while the other two finalists will receive a cheque over nearly 10,000 Swiss francs.

A process for tamper-proof marking of plastic components with individual codes receives one of Switzerland’s most important innovation awards. Matriq AG, founded in St. Gallen in October 2019, received the Pionierpreis 2021, worth nearly 100,000 Swiss francs, at a ceremony held at Technopark Zurich.
